I was introduced to the work of Kirsten and Dean several years ago when I accidentally ran into a giant âtribbleâ wandering the fringe venues. They were promoting their show, and Kirsten had the giant fluffball costume on. It intrigued me, so I went to see their show, and Iâm so glad I did. Now I make sure I donât miss a performance. They are so talented, and have introduced all new work this year, taking our emotions and imaginations in fascinating new directions.

Delightful and Insightful

Rating: 5 kitties
What begins as a practical and logically planned effort at choosing just the right dogs develops into a laugh-out-loud adventure of discovery. From the hilarious stories of dog behavior to wry observations of the crazy ways people interact with their dogs, Mike and Nadine lead us with impeccable timing through a wonderful journey of laughter while poking fun at themselves and the rest of us goofy dog owners. Well done!

I don't participate in the theater in any way except watching, and it was fun for me to see this robust play staged as if from behind the scenes. Interesting, funny, and clever.
The Cody Rivers Show Presents: Stick to Glue
Crazy fun!

Rating: 5 kitties
I saw these two last year and I could not wait to see them again. They were amazing. They do zip through very fast and that is part of their magic. But the subtle scenes are great too. Crazy slow-motion stuff, trying to figure out what they are doing and then the "ah ha!" moment. What a kick.

What a fabulous story-teller, and I liked the way she cleverly ended the show. I may have a slight difference of opinion on critizing other artists, but I can see how in some cases you cannot resist.

I went to this show on a whim. I had heard the buzz and had an open spot. What a treat. Yeah, it can be a bit macabre at times, but hilarious too. And different every time? Oh great, now I will want to see them all.
The Attack of the Big Angry Booty

He is such an engaging storyteller. I found myself wrapped up in what he had to say. But, not just what he said, but how he said it. I saw his show last year, and I'm glad I saw this one too. My only problem was that I had a craving for tacos after the show.

Mortem Capiendum

I can't because I saw the last show of the festival, and they didn't get the encore slot. I LOVED this show. I laughed so hard, and the show kept me totally engaged. I loved all of the clever details. I hope they "revive" this one beyond the fringe. OK, I'll say it anyway--highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this show--everyone did a great job. I happened to run into the artists after the show on the steps of the Rarig center. The drummer is 12 years old! And the saxophone player was awesome and visiting from New York. Each actor had something great to add to this show. Recommended!

As someone who knows pretty much nothing about the dance world, I found this very interesting and cleverly done. I thought I wanted to see more straight-up dancing, but now that I think back on it, there was always some interesting movement and expression. They are also both very appealing and engaging.

I was worried that I was going to be propelled into an explosion of sadness and tears. I ended up feeling the horror and sadness of the Holocaust in a quieter way that will likely have me still pondering its questions for some time.

I am a rabid Monty Python fan, and I had a great time at this show. Their arrangements of these funny Monty Python skits were super. Many of the reviews were critical because "it had already been done" by the original Monty Python crew. But if that was the criteria for putting on a show, then we would be missing out on a lot of great shows. This was fun. And the music was great too.

The Supercilious Ways of Walter Wading
Welcoming
by Kristi Lawless
Rating: 4 kitties
This was a funny show, and the cast somehow made the audience really feel welcome without the obvious tactics (such as getting the kids to "help" a character on stage). I enjoyed the short question and answer session at the end of the show. Nice job.
Robin Hood The Musical!

I enjoyed this combination of stories and dance. Joe's timing is just perfect, and I love his little asides. And Sara's dancing as Angus was particularly fine.

I changed my mind
by Kristi Lawless
Rating: 4 kitties
When the show started, I thought "Oh no, what have I gotten myself in for? It's like watching two little girls playing silly." Then, the charm of this show began to catch me. I loved the melons, the S.A.D. light, groceries, phone call, yep, like I said, it begins to cast a spell. The only thing I could have done a little less with was the alien stuff--just a tad less. Otherwise, nicely done!

I little uneven and rough in places--could be first night issues. A couple of standout moments were "The Bells" and a particularly chilling "Telltale Heart."
Dracula's Castle
Almost
by Kristi Lawless
Rating: 3 kitties
This show had several fine moments--the singing was wonderful, and Dracula was deliciously sinister when stalking a victim. But...(1) I thought they would have fixed the technical difficulties mentioned in the earlier reviews by the last show (2) It was difficult to follow the storyline (it helped to have read the book) (3) The band was too loud (4) The style was inconsistent--it felt at times like Dracula done in the style of "Jesus Christ Superstar"

I enjoyed this show, but I would have preferred more cool experiments and fewer antics. Also, please switch out some of the uncomfortable 'student-chairs' with regular ones...even folding chairs would have been better.
