This is the only show I left before it was over. Then I read I only missed 10 minutes of it. I love the Southern Theatre. I took ballet and I have had season tickets for dance, but I don't define dance as standing behind a screen with back lighting with little movement. Then they played a music box tune over and over while laying on the floor twitching. I listen to the Dutch/English nonsense and I left when one of the performers starting singing "Summertime" off key.The whole show was pure nonsense.

I think this show fits the Southern Theatre perfectly. The motif of the whole show was bereavement of love - and two different takes on it - one very passionate and sorrowful, the other funny but conveying the same emotion. Nice work people!

It is a good effort, something different. I would like to learn more about the language used - perhaps a better mixture of english and dutch would be good. But sometimes what you don't understand creates more of a mystery. I enjoyed it.

The show depicts raw passion which is thoroughly gripping. It could have been a little longer.

This was a good show that brought out raw passion. The trumpetting was good.

A mixed bag

I'm a life-long modern dance fan and I certainly appreciate a non-linear performance as much as the next person. That said though, even those of us who don't require that all the dots be neatly connected still need some entree into a piece. "Homecoming," the first of the two seemingly disparate pieces comprising this 35-minute show, started out looking and sounding great in its beautiful Southern venue. However, after about five minutes, I gave up trying to find any path to engagement. The second piece, "To Have and To Hold" was delightful but unsatisfyingly short. Kelly Anderson moved beautifully, showcasing both dance and acting skills and using props and music very effectively. I would have loved to see the charming concept and performance further developed.

I can understand that the piece Homecoming can be confusing, cause its a reversed story, we just didnt want a happy end, we wanted a happy beginning.
Thank you for your review.
