Unevocative, uninspiring

As near as I can figure out, the show was about how girls conform to society's norms then grow up to be ugly and boring and have to literally tackle a man to get married. Not a message I really wanted to hear. Three of the five dances were hard to figure out, so I may be wrong. The other two were at least interesting and the music was good, so the show works its way up to two kitties. The middle piece had the dancer interact with a live band. She directs them to cacophony. The last piece, about chasing men, was at least obvious. A Shockwave Radio Theater Review.
A fun romp

When it comes to modern dance I'm like Col. Klink (I know nothing!) So it's rare that I enjoy it... but this was really enjoyable. It's pretty, light and super sweet... just like... well, cupcakes! See this show!

I also created an account just to write a review for this show. I brought three teenage girls, who found it beautiful, a little confusing and challenging, and mostly funny. We all appreciated the accessibility of the movement vocabulary, and the beauty and symmetry of the lifts and weight bearing contact and transitions. The use of the face itself as a dance tool, not just "expressive", was masterful. It was a perfect vehicle for someone new to dance to test out, in small ways, how dance can push your thinking, all the while treating you to a nice summer cupcake.
which one of these is not like the other

this was quite enjoyable. The solo piece with the large band kind of baffled me. I felt like there was some info i was missing about the character the dancer was trying to portray. It also was a big jump in mood from all the other dances so to me it didn't seem like it fit in very well. I really liked the 3rd dance with the oldies prom type music, and the last dance.

Adventourous joyful performance. Good use of thier entire bodies to project to the audience. A couple of missed ques but still delightful
Better than the title!

I created an account just to write a review to counter the middling reviews this show has received so far. The full band song seemed incongruous to me as well, but I really enjoyed every other piece. The choreography used contact and weight-bearing/lifting in fascinating ways, and the music was consistently well chosen and interesting. It was also engaging for the entire duration...and I didn't expect it to be, as the title (I feel) underserves the piece.
Fluff, but not in a bad way

Like the cupcakes in the picture for this show, it's tasty and sweet, but not very substantial. There are some interesting ideas, but there is not much to them. The piece with the band was interesting, but the band was more interesting than the dancing. The best part was the fifth dance, which had some nice choreography. Not a bad show, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.
