Advice-a-Versa

Thanks to all who came to see our show. If you missed it, we hope to have it up on our web site soon.

Is advice the 8th wonder of the world or the 8th deadly sin? We give it and get it - solicited & unsolicited. Whether it's good or bad we still can't get enough. If you want, join in. So, what's you advice?

Advice-a-Versa! is a completely collaborative production. We took advice and stories submitted on our website Intertwine Theater , combined that with stories and advice from our friends and family and twisted it all together with pieces written by each of the actors in the production. The audience is invited to also add input during the production.

good idea

I liked the idea behind this show. There were some interesting readings and funny skits. I really liked the improv part of the show. The only big problem I saw was that one of the actresses had a distracting style, but other than that the play itself was cool. There are wide poles blocking part of the stage, so that was annoying.

This play was very enjoyable. The writing was easy flowing, the actors perfect and it tugged at the heart as well as made you think. I liked the fact there was audience participation and that it was uplifting, not cynical.

Well done!

The play was tightly constructed and performed by a talented cast. It held up a mirror to the advice we give and take in our everyday lives. The audience participation brought us all into the situation. It's a show everyone can relate to. See this one!

This show could be longer. An hour isn't long enough for all the little "gems" these women offer. Granted, some scenes work better than others, but I left with a grin and more insight toward my own life. And that is because I felt their hearts truly reaching out through lots of good humor and touching scenes.

I would have loved to give it five kitties, but I'm comparing it to another show I loved so I gave it four GLORIOUS kitties. It reached me for most of the time.

Humorous in parts, serious in parts. A truly enjoyable show.

Worthwhile

The first 15 minutes were kind of slow, repeating advice and jokes we've all heard before. I'd give that part 3 kitties. After that it alternated between 4 and 5 kitties. So, overall, I give it 4 kitties. Not a must see but definitely worthwhile to fill out your schedule.

It's been almost 4 days since opening night of the play and my face still hurts from smiling and laughing at a well-crafted and well-acted performance. There were a few tears as well that carried me along as the play progressed. I'll be seeing it again and bringing my siblings.

Advice-a-Versa featured a genuinely hilarious performance interspersed with moments of great poignancy. There is a reason this show sold-out on Sunday afternoon—word has spread about the talented cast and funny, thoughtful material that appealed to a broad audience. Put this one on your must-see list.

Who can't relate to giving or getting advice? Do you have a mother? A daughter? A sister, friend, or coworker? Then go see Advice-a-Versa and laugh at yourself (and enjoy some well-acted tender moments). When you leave the theatre you may think twice before opening your mouth to share some words of wisdom. So, my advice to you? Go see this show.
