Fools for Love

presented by Hastings High School Drama Club

Fools for Love

Eric Ringham from the Star Tribune writes:
"What do you get when you put nine high school theater kids in clown noses and funny costumes? A whole lot of cute."

"I've never laughed this much making a show before!"
-Noah Bremer

For some, love comes easy, but for others love doesn't come at all, or if it does, it hits you across the face with whipped cream and Jello.

Performed in the style of red-nose European clown, Noah Bremer (Live Action Set) directs this tender, youthful and knee-slapping exploration of the most intense of human emotions . . . love.

This show contains a parade, monster impressions, randomness, a penguin ballet, acts of wonderment, and is absolutely appropriate for all ages.

Delightful!

Another hidden Fringe gem! This show is all the adjectives: charming, fun, sparkling, delightful and, dare I say it, "cute." It's a whole lot more, too! These red-nosed kids have out-clowned the professional red-nosed clowns. This one came as a suggestion from a precocious lad in a line for a different show. My Fringe buddy and I laughed our way through the entire performance. There's some real budding talent here. My congratulations to the entire cast and Noah Bremer. See This Show!

Perfect Show for the kids....

OK I'll admit that I'm biased about this show (my son is a performer)but it deserves better attendance than it has been getting. I think the kids have done a wonderful job of developing their characters. It's fun and fast moving. Kids won't get restless watching this performance. Give it a try!!!

This is a lovely gem of a piece. How can you not smile and laugh and giggle at such young people giving it their all as adorable clowns with those red noses? This show would melt even Scrooge's heart. I laughed at their antics and wished that I had had this kind of experience when I was in junior high and high school as a performer! I left the theatre feeling light and gooey inside and full of love and hoping that it smacks us all on the head while on the bus!

A bit silly at times, FFL is appealing for just that: silliness. Sometimes a person needs to relax and be a kid again. The show still manages to address a topic (finding love, even in everyday objects) that anyone can relate to. I had a great time seeing this show, and the hour certainly passed quickly. I highly recommend this show. (My favorite part was the penguin ballet!)
