Marceau would be honored

Dean's growth as an artist over that last couple of years has been steady and marvelous to watch. I laughed many times, was touched emotionally in ways I haven't been in seeing past shows of his.
Costume improvement was a big plus. The musical choices awesome and some of the newer pieces such as "The Kite" were beautiful.
The pacing was slow, but that is a reminder of Marceau and his dedication to kinder, gentler times. One had to settle in to really enjoy this show, but it was well worth it.

Excellent job! I enjoy all the vignettes very much! This show made me laugh more than any other fringe show.

Excellent miming, but the lack of storyline/plot through the vignettes left me a little disinterested by the end.

Beautifully absurd, in every sense. I enjoyed the use of lighting, shadows, and music as well. The Kite is pretty much the summit of what mime is about: elevating the dignity of the human spirit through pathos and humiliation. I will be watching for more from this guy.

Hatton really is becoming a master of his craft, which is always a rare thing indeed. His physical prowess is enhanced by a wonderful spirit of playfulness and ease while the script is filled with several poignant moments. Not to be missed!
If you think you could never love mime

I was neutral to negative on this genre until I saw it performed by Dean Hatton, who can create a tremendous range of emotion and ask big questions without ever saying a word. If you think you could never love mime, this show will change your mind. A must see!

I'm kind of a groupie of this guy, in that I've seen nearly everything he's done for the past five years -- and there's really no higher recommendation than that. Constantly experimenting with different combinations of old and new -- as far as I'm concerned, the dude's a must-see. Full review available at the Twin Cities Daily Planet.
Mime's the word (unspoken)

Really fun display of mime by Dean Hatton. There are several pieces including one in church that had me laughing big time. (I didn't get nearly this creative in my daydreaming; I mostly looked up at the big lamps and tried to figure out who would be crushed if the chain broke.) Another skit involving the portrayal of a mime is one of those great bits of humor that I suspect is born out of some pretty bitter personal experience. (Very possibly the show within the show...)

He's funny for sure, but after the very long though funny musical introduction, I just wanted more. I think that he is good, but I wasn't satisfied with his plots to be honest here.
A welcome break from spoken word

A beautiful showcase of the power of mime with vignettes that are funny and poignant. Mr. Hatton gives a committed physical and emotional performance to win over even the most reluctant mime patron. It's great to have an opportunity to take in a Fringe show that falls outside the predominant spoken word/sketch comedy/musical/dance genres.

We laughed, and laughed some more. It's amazing how much emotion can be expressed without saying a word. Don't miss this one!
