two creepy kitties

This show was ok - there were definitely funny moments (Little Mermaid evolution, for example), but it needed something more. I can't put my finger on what, but I like their improv much better.
Don't try to understand it...

...if you do, you'll miss the whole point. Enjoy the funny ("Part of That World" sung by an evolving bacteria; presidential candidate MonSter; and various interactions with God) and appreciate the sincere (hospital death scene) and you'll walk away from this show satisfied. This show is a free-form building upon a theme more than a cohesive arc, but from two very funny improvers, I'll take it!
Enjoyable.

A very smart, funny show with a great premise, though it is on the rough side. Glad I saw it.

The structure of this show reminded me of "Mr. Show" or "Monty Python". Some of the scenes were stronger than others, but some of my favs were The Flying Car and Monster Press Conference. I laughed a lot.
Missed something

While these two obviously are improv pro's this show appeared to be an attempt at scripting improv and loosely tied together. While not horrible, I felt lost and confused throughout much of the show. It appears to be the beginning of something good, just not developed enough.
My least favorite this year

Not horrible, mind you, but I think there was about 10 minutes worth of laughs in this hour long show. Others in the audience were yucking it up, but neither my partner nor I found it all that humorous.

Reincarnation is a smart, funny show. There are a few stand-out sketches - flying car, the alien series - and many that made me smile. I prefer their improv, but this is a great show. The Rampleseed's humor is thoughtful and sincere and this show is no different.

Cleverly written social satire, lively performances, very entertaining. Tom Reed and Tyler Samples are talented writers and performers that give us a witty show with biting commentary. They pack a lot of material into one hour and the fast pace adds to the manic fun! Go see this show!
Very good â and they'll only go up

First of all, go in knowing the background of these guys. They did not write a play, they wrote a dozen or so (maybe more) sketch comedy pieces which are loosely intertwined.
With a few minor props changed constantly, they play myriad characters, from 50s families to other-worldly creatures, they deftly switch characters and voices. I bet it's a lot harder than they make it look.
Some of the bits are fantastic. Don't be late â the opening is great. A few could use some polish, but if this is their first scripted show then they pull it off with vigor and panache. These are two talented young comedian/actors and the show is well worth seeing.
CAUTION: Escapees From the Institution

5 stars â great for a good laugh - a must see. Tyler and Tim âescapees from the institutionâ, use the mirth of improve to flesh out the mysteries of lifeâs metaphysical world. Sandwiched between the lines that draw laughs is a serious look at our relationship to God. (Note: Photo on promotional material is a far from the truth.)

Life After Death

Whoever said "Repetition is the basis of comedy" is proven by Rampleseed. Less to do with death than current events, the duo never lag as they jump from sketch to sketch with unflagging enthusiasm. I prefer them unscripted, but this is definitely a solid debut effort.
All you could ask for

For a show about life, living, and the futility of it all, it had moments of definite poignancy, but when it came down to it, it reflected life perfectly in that there were no answers, only moments, and they're all ridiculous. I laughed a lot, I was touched quite a bit, but entertained throughout. And that's what life is about.
I liked this one better than I thought I

Don't let that picture scare you. There's no actual nudity (or if you like that sort of thing, don't let it disappoint you). Their Fringe-for-All preview was the very first scene of their show and while it was entertaining, it doesn't at all do the show justice, but there's no way you could know that because you have to see the whole thing for it to make sense. It didn't fully hit me until after it was over how the title really was reflective of the content. So anyway, the first few scenes are kind of "enh?" but as the show builds on itself and the same themes and scenes are revisited, it becomes more and more entertaining. So don't be late to this one.
Perhaps Another Chance Was Needed?

âReincarnationâ is a play full of ideas, some great.
Really, thatâs about it. Thereâs little in the way of story structure, plot or character to get in the way of those ideas, and thatâs a shame. Some of the ideas, fleshed out and polished a bit more, could have made this a intriguing show, something to talk about over coffee afterwards. As it stands, it sparks one or two philosophical bon mots, and then is forgotten.
Maybe next time around.
See it now!

For a show that is non-violent, Tyler and Tom keeps bringing the comedy to the edge, starting from a comfortable place. Yet each time, as they venture further and further "out" there, they come back to a different easy-going funny story. Catch it now - while you can! The only time you see Tyler shirtless is when he's cleaning up the stage. 'Tis a shame.
Scattered Amusements

Sort of a 'life as Groundhog's Day', Reincarnation mixes earthly action with 'tween-life interludes. I smiled a lot, but the show didn't hit me very hard (exception: I loved one of the death scenes and how it mirrored some earlier dialog). I liked the idea, liked the fractured time-line, and I liked the performers, but overall the script seemed a little underwritten, and the pacing dragged a touch due to the many transitions. The latter issue in particular may well be helped as the run of the show moves forward.
