Monster
Amazing performance! by feesh ette
Rating: 5 kitties
If you are wondering if you can fit in one the last 4 performances into your schedule, JUST DO IT. There is one man on the stage, but several distinct, believable characters emerge. The show is so tight and precise, and the direction is incredible. Bravo!
The Pizpor Show
Plays well with audience by feesh ette
Rating: 5 kitties
There was so much audience play. The guys walked around and chatted before the show, and really kept the audience going through the end. Don't be late to this show!
An Intimate Evening With Fotis Part III
Fotis nails it again by feesh ette
Rating: 5 kitties
This was my 3rd year seeing his solo show, and I will definitely see him again if he makes the lottery next year. Fotis has become one of my Fringe staples.
Jurassic Dork
Perfection by feesh ette
Rating: 5 kitties
I laughed so hard at this show that I snorted. More than once. The props are integrated perfectly. A lot of thought went into this show, and the execution is crisp and fast moving.
Silent Poetry 2
These ratings don't lie! by feesh ette
Rating: 5 kitties
This show had a preview at Gremlin Theatre, and I was instantly hooked. This is NOT your stereotypical mime show, consisting only of invisible boxes and tug-of-war. These 2 are amazing artists who have more control over their bodies than several of the dancers I have seen in other Fringe shows. The stories these 2 tell (silently) are a great mix of funny, beautiful, and emotional. I did not make it to last yearâs Silent Poetry, and man, am I sorry!
Animal Cracker Genocide
1000 points to Ben! by feesh ette
Rating: 5 kitties
Ben San Del should be a staple on everyoneâs Fringe list. It's storytelling and stand-up, mixed into a delicious comedy stew.
Slow Jobs: Servicing America for $12 an Hour
Nerd Humor = Comedy gold by feesh ette
Rating: 4 kitties
These two hit the nail on the head again! Everyone can relate to these stories, and will leave with a belly ache from laughing.
Bedroom Stories
A whole lotta WTF - in a VERY good way by feesh ette
Rating: 4 kitties
It's not warm and fuzzy; it is stark and grim. It's dark humor, and you won't be able to tear your eyes away. This artist has perfected each moment of the show, down to a shoulder roll or an eyebrow twitch. Sit in the front row or the back row on the balcony for the best views.
The Underachiever's Manifesto
Good material, lack of energy by feesh ette
Rating: 3 kitties
These guys claimed to have not rehearsed. I wasn't sure if it was true, or if they just hammed it up so much that they killed the energy at several moments during the show. The material was hilarious, however, and both guys were likable. It's worth seeing if you are at the Gremlin.
Tech Support: The musical
It's OK by feesh ette
Rating: 3 kitties
I guess I wanted this to be more than what it was. Each actor had a good performance, but there wasn't a lot of chemistry amongst the whole cast. The premise was hilarious, as we can all relate, but the whole production left me feeling a bit tepid.
The Red Tureen
Excellent performers by feesh ette
Rating: 3 kitties
I have to admit, it's hard to be a fan of historical musical theatre. However, I was completely impressed that EVERY actor in this show had a strong singing voice. Usually, fringe shows have one or two really good singers or a few really quiet/off-key singers. Everyone in this ensemble sounded fabulous. However, singing with false accents made it hard for the actors to keep on the tempo of the music. It was cute, but not scintillating. I was impressed by the talent of the performers, but not with the performance.
The Frog Prince: A Splashy New Musical!
Didn't hold my interest. by feesh ette
Rating: 2 kitties
This was a cute show for kids, but didn't have enough hidden jokes for grownups, if any. There were some sound problems at Friday 7/31 performance where about 1/3 of the cast had working microphones, and the everyone else was left to compete with the live music. There were a couple of ensemble numbers where I could not make out any words, and missed the point of the song. My favorite part was the frog quartet.
