At John Hughes High, an evil lunch lady battles geeks, cheerleaders, punks, jocks, drama club members and a militant vegetarian for control of their snarky teenage souls. A fractured high school fairy tale!

Co-created and directed by "King of Comedy" (MN Monthly) Joseph Scrimshaw!

Featuring Brian Kelly ("The Temp", "Triple Espresso") in a tour de force performance as the Evil Lunch Lady and every other adult in the school!

In Another's Size is a fast-paced comedy about teens switching bodies with other teens--as the characters in the show say, "It’s like Freaky Friday but way freakier." The show challenges the idea of stereotypes: are they based on truth? Do they follow us through life? Do adults have their own stereotypes? Will the teens' perception of one another change after walking a mile in someone else's shows? Or will they just steal the shoes? The show is designed to be a thoughtful, intelligent comedy for teens and their adults.

Developed by the students of SteppingStone Theater's new year-long training program, Produce It, this is the first Fringe show produced by celebrated youth theater company, SteppingStone Theater! The teens in the show met every week for nine months and worked on every aspect of the show: writing, budgeting, marketing, designing and performing!

I Wanted To Like It, Really.

I dig kids shows. Teen shows. Original scripts. I admire the effort put into them. Youth productions are more challenging by a long mile than popping in a cast of professional adults and cranking out a show. HOWEVER, I expected, under the guidance of Mr Scrimshaw, that I would be fully entertained for the hour and howling with laughter. Instead I watched an interesting idea poorly played out over a very long 50 minutes. I didn't hate it, but I expected to at least be entertained. Kudos to Brian Kelly.. you rock. Enough said.

this show was short and sweet. Yes, I did feel a little like I was watching the Disney Channel, but there is a reason the Disney Channel exists. This show reminded me of that! It was sincere, well meaning, and the kids were very endearing. Wholesome, like a calcium enriched pb & j, or juicy juice. Recommended to all who enjoy the Suite Life of Zack and Cody or Hannah Montana.

Entertaining, But Had Its Downfalls

First off, let me say that Brian Kelly was absolutely hysterical in this production, and had me in stitches throughout most of the show. He pretty much made the show for me.

However, some of the teen actors in the show left something to be desired. I felt like a few of the characters were very one-dimensional and almost uninteresting in parts of it.

However, I must say that the show was funny and enjoyable. The script had some clever points, but at other times failed to deliver. In conclusion, this show was a fun ride and the effort everyone gave was phenomenal, but it needed some more polishing.

Nonetheless, good work!

FANTASTIC

I attended In Another’s Size and it was beyond FANTASTIC! It was so entertaining, funny and odd at the same time that I’m going back tomorrow to see it again! The actors each acted a teen stereotype convincingly and also acted another’s role soooo well when two traded minds! Hazel (8 ½ years)

I loved it!

It was a coincidence that I saw I two productions by teens in one night. Sometimes, the universe has a strange sense of humor.

I walked into the show resigned but not committed to it and left thinking that the show topped my list of Fringe Faves so far. The acting by the students amazing. The difficulty of playing dual roles, keeping enough of the individual elements that even without costume changes you know who was who the whole time, was handled superbly. Kelly's character of the lunch lady as narrator, music teacher, biology teacher, and coach was excellent.

This show appealed to all ages because I heard the little girl in front of me laughing and she couldn't have been more than 4 years old.

Nice Job!

There is something beautiful about the fact that a group of kids can write the best show I saw one day.

Funny, Insightful, Worth Seeing Twice

If you want to see Freaky Friday turned on its head, don’t miss the SteppingStone’s In Another’s Size at the Mixed Blood Theatre. This group of teenagers make fun of themselves in hilarious fashion when a freak accident puts them all in the body of another teen, usually the one least like themselves. Watch them struggle through a day of breaking stereotypes and learning to understand each other all lead by their somewhat crazy lunch “lady.” (Brian Kelly of Triple Espresso). It will take you back to your high school years to laugh at the things you thought were so important, and smile at the recognition that one day, they won’t be. The kids in the show brighten up the stage with energy and wit, and almost, not really, make you want to return to high school one more time.
