The Nomad was the perfect setting for this bawdy and hilarious rock show. The band successfully lampooned a variety of musical styles and musicians, my personal favorite song being the Doors/Jim Morrison pastiche. A great show to relax at and have a beer.

Bawdy and delicious!
I rate this 11 out of 5 Kitties.
This is the only show I decided to see twice. Fantastic acting, Fantastic singing! (really fantastic singing)
If you get a chance to see this show after Fringe, DO IT!

This is a lot of fun and such a novel idea. Some songs are better than others but the "bitch" really steals the show.

This show is so much fun. The Nomad's comfy bar setting makes this show one of the most enjoyable venues to see a fringe show this year. And the show itself is a lot of fun. It ranges from being cute to being very raunchy. And all the while there is a lot of fun, well-written music. So see this show - again and again and again...

Rock-n-Roll burlesque were they themselves said it best: “Strut your stuff everyone is doin’ it” This is high camp. Yes, it was done in a bar where the beer flows; but, it is so good it should be done on the open stage where it will be even a bit more risqué.
This show rocks!

GO SEE THIS! 5 kitties aren't enough to express my delight with this show. I smiled and and laughed the entire time, and it wasn't just because of the tasty Nomad beer! I don't know what was more impressive - the inventive storyline, the singing, the songs, or the spot-on zany perfomances (I couldn't stop laughing during The Doors spoof). All I know is that it was the most fun I've ever had at the Fringe.

Can't get enough Brant Miller. Or the rest! CAPB escaped from the farm to bring you this high energy Rock n Roll confection. Would love to see this expanded into a full length show. One of the best!

Really, go see this. Some of the best writing at the festival, with great original music that's a lush homage to spinal tap, zeppelin, queen, save ferris, the stones, and other icons. Delightful audience interaction, and well developed characters that you get to see play out their tortured past.
The audio mix can get a little garbled, but not enough to not make it worth seeing at least twice to catch more of the delightfully subtle sexual word play.
Doesn't get better than this

Music, theatre and beer, well, that combo deserves at least one kitty. The other four kitties go to the comic timing of these fine performers, the lyrics, the energy of the show and the fun venue. I really hope they remount this show. I would love to see it again.

I was scared when I saw the Fringey video (because I guess I didn't read the fine print about the context): it seemed kinda... lame, so this show wasn't on my schedule. OMG THIS SHOW IS SO RAD. Obvy, with all the other 5-kitty reviews, this is a rockin' show. (ps - the Fringey video is of when the group "sells out"). Each one of the 3 Sticks clan absolutely soars in their roles: Ms. Melby as Cat is super sexy and hilarious; Mr. Lynch as Rooster has a Prince-inspired song that will make you laugh and probably make you horny too; Mr. Miller rules as the baritone Donkey overcoming... I'm not going to give it away. But the stand-out of the eve for me was Ms. Katie Hartman with her solo song (and just being adorable on the drums the whole way through): that girl has got PIPES. And you can hear everything she says. This has definitely been one of my favorite experiences so far. DO NOT MISS!

Imagine if Spinal Tap was done as a Fringe show... 3 Sticks does a dead-on parody of the foibles of the music industry and the rise and fall of bands. Live original music, beer at the bar, outstanding musical performances, and masterful use of the neighborhood-bar space. I've seen a whole bunch of musicals at Fringe this year, and this one is by far my favorite.

Great music and characters and a hellof a lot of fun. I'm just afraid for the "Bitch" that she will injure herself while strutting on the bar in stilettos, AND leaping from the bar to the floor! Be careful out there - we love you guys!

God, what a hoot. Maybe not for everybody, but if you like good rock and roll with a story, spiced with a bit of risque and a bunch of double entendre, go see Rooster, Donkey, Cat and Dog. You'll not go wrong.

SPOILER ALERT
I've long admired the folks from 3 Sticks, and they've knocked it out of the park with this fantastic show. We meet Dog, Cat, Rooster and Donkey - misfits straight from the barn - and follow their unlikely story of success, failure, and eventual redemption. A fully-formed, incredibly smartly written rock musical featuring impressively penned songs like "Strut", "I'm A Bitch", and "Cock Ass Pussy Bitch", this show is a winner. They play the Nomad World Pub (a perfect setting) every night. There's no excuse to miss it.

What a perfect Fringe show - it's creative on multiple levels (music, acting, comedy) and there's never a dull moment.
All four of them shine. I think Cock Ass Pussy Bitch may be my new favorite band.

A terrific cast uses the Nomad Bar to perfection. The animals each have their own personality, and each are a little bad in their own way. The songs are all original, and the story of the animal band is brought to life through the music. You will be singing and clapping along. Beer and pizza available at the bar, too, just the thing for busy fringers with little time for dinner between shows. Another sassy musical gets a true five kitty rating. The 3 Sticks rock-show, behind-the-music narrative and outstanding music revealed these four crazy animal personalities: Rooster, Donkey, Cat, and Dog. The transformation, in an hour, from our lowly barnyard friends to CAPB, is thrilling and a little naughty and great, great fun. Don't miss it. Fortunately, it plays from Tuesday until the end of the Fringe at 7pm at the Nomad World Pub on the West Bank.

I had so much fun at this show. The performers had great voices and were incredibly charismatic. I loved when they sang harmonies. They had great command of the space. The songs were clever. "Strut" and the Dog's big solo were personal favorites. I'm glad they have 10 shows, because I plan to see this more than once. When does the album come out?

I wanted to see these guys because I was so impressed by their inventive, athletic dance performance last year: The Gypsy and the General. I had no idea what to expect of this year's performance, but this wasn't it: 4 oddly clothed musicians on a tiny stage at the back of a neighborhood bar. WTF, I thought they were a dance troupe? By the end of the hour they were, in fact gyrating on the stage, cavorting around the room and dancing on the bar. Yep, they're dancers. They are also awesomely eclectic musical performers and just a hell of a lot of fun. It's difficult to describe the show without giving away too much - just go see them! Buy a Magic Hat beer at the bar and don't sit too close to the stage unless you want to be blown away by the oversized sound system. And bring a lighter! All I can say is that when they swing into their last number, everybody in the bar should be holding a lighter aloft. And watch for their CD, rumored to be available sometime later during Fringe week. I know I'll buy one!

This show was really, really good. Everyone there had a great time! Great use of space, really great idea for the BYOV concept! The music is really good, and the singing is exceptional. You can't miss Rooster singing about inter-species love, or Dog dancing on the bar! You will leave singing CPAB*(you will know what I'm talking about!)
AUDIENCE TIP: Get to the Nomad just before the box office opens at 6:30pm and order your beer! 2 for 1 Happy Hours ends at 6:30!

The writing is clever, the music is excellent. The venue gives it a genuine rock-show feel. I think it will be hard to find another show in the fringe that is this much fun.

An understated beginning accelerates immediately into a riotous 50-minutes worth of.pure (and impure) low brow brilliance!
What you thought initially was simply a motly assemblance of ordinary singing farm animals turns into a CAPB (ya gotta go to understand)!
Don't miss the chance to hear the chart-busting Inter-Species Love Song, with lyric including the sensual words, "When you want to put your love where it don't belong!"
