Evalyn Parry's stage presence, songwriting, and storytelling go a long way to take the viewer for a humorous and entertaining ride through history in the service of modern feminist social commentary on consumerism. She's not likely to come back to the Twin Cities since she has a successful career in Toronto. See her while you can! The Pioneer Press review did not do this show justice. It's a must-see for all Fringe goers, newbies and veterans alike. You won't regret it.
Match Game Minnesota
Not quite a "must see" by Jeanne Burns
Rating: 2 kitties
Especially if you're a fringe veteran or someone who likes quality theater. It's good for some laughs, but worth $12? I don't think so. It seemed like a cheap way to promote the panelists' shows and the panelists themselves. Even one contestant had a show and got to plug his stuff. This Fringe newbie wasn't pleased that she believed all the hype from the Twin Cities major media. I wished I'd have saved my card punch for something else.
