Parody,Music, Dance, Spoken Word and a play to examine humorously and very true to life the anyoneroad through pregnancy. Recommended for who was ever born. Much funnier than it would seem

Amazing, total fun!

I could totally connect with humor of day to day life presented! Real life instances, conversation but depicted in very funny way.... Only curious George story though narrated in amazing way, I found it irrelevant; even argument between midwife & doctor!
But overall amazing play!

Funny and True

If you've ever experienced the roller coaster ride that is family planning, this is your show. It's totally true while being hilarious. Josh Scrimshaw's "Cat's in the Cradle" interpretive dance is... there are no words. It's so prefect and ludicrous that I was gasping for breath by the end. Shanan Custer is so authentic onstage that I sort of actually believed she had gotten pregnant and gone into labor during the course of the show. The whole thing brought back memories of our own experiences with maternity and left me feeling nostalgic and relieved at the same time.

I loved this show. It was extremely funny but at the same time realistically showed how things are when your family is going through their first pregnancy. The two actors were great. I recommend seeing this show if you get a chance.

This show had me laughing every other second. I loved the balance between comedic yet touching scenes and the other types of storytelling that bookended them. Marvelously entertaining and expertly executed.

A side-splittingly funny look at a couple's journey into parenthood. Heart-warming and hilarious--a must see.

Imaginative and often hilarious iterations of wonder, anxiety and discovery along the path to parenthood. For a change, the musical offerings actually fit the themes of the show. The "Cat's in the Cradle" bit alone is worth seeing this show. Also for a change, both performers are extremely talented and never in need of being carried by the other.

Hilarious and poignant

I'll make it short and sweet: go see these two hilarious performers! These two have great comedic timing and the material is full of truth and laughs. The first two scenes in particular made me uncomfortable due to how realistic they were depicting my own experience. It's worth going to all the way to the Illusion--they have beer and wine and cookies there too.

A Must-See!

Shanan and Joshua are two very talented comedians who also know how to write to their own strengths. Every scene is tight, well-written and delivered with panache!

I don't have children, but I was right there with them every step of the way. The re-written "Curious George" reading, the interpretive dance to "Cats in the Cradle", and... well, every scene was belly-laughingly funny and at the same time, oddly, poignant and honest.

Go see this show!

Shanan and Joshua make a great team. They have an incredible chemistry as performers. As writers, they are clever and witty. The subject matter is clearly something they feel passionate about and that energy makes for a compelling and hilarious show, whether you have kids or not. Go see it already!

As a non-parent I wasn't sure what to expect from a show based on having children. And what I got was an hours worth of laughter, insight into parenthood and a new found respect for the strength of your every day midwife. This show has something for everyone. It's smart and pulled together. Don't miss this one!

If you're not a parent, see this for insight into your parents and the marernity ward cage match. If you've been there and done that, if you're a parent, you'll laugh and maybe cry and you'll enjoy the crazy ride that Scrimshaw and Custer take you on with stops at drama, dance and singing all performed without labor pains.

This is a lot of fun for those of us who've been through the joys of pregnancy, covering both sides of the gender fence. While a lot of the material covers ground that's been mined before by others, these two make it seem fresh and original. A few awkward transitions are more than made up for by the sheer force of Shanan and Joshua's personalities.

Oh! That's what that meant.

This performance was every bit as funny as the first time around, and now I actually understand what some of the jokes mean! Really well done!

Sometimes, two professionals who know exactly what they're doing get on stage and perform a show about something that matters to them, and the results are something of a mysterious, exponential delight. The show is so simple and never tries not to be, and the time flies fast — so fast, I thought the ending was a joke. I happen to be pregnant myself, so the topic was certainly relevant to me, but I think this would make an excellent date night for any couple who has had or might consider having kids together. There was laughter all the way through and an interpretive dance to remember.

Both sides of pregnancy

Joshua and Shanan are experts in comedy and both have been through this process. There was nothing overly new with the material, but it was expertly crafted and honed with great skill. If you have been through a pregnancy (on either side) this is a must see. If you haven't, it will give you a glimpse as to why we are are all crazy during this time in our lives.

Very sweet and lovely.

So funny and poignant. A stark and humorous look at the undercarriage of conceiving, pregnancy, and pre-parenting anxieties. This piece was so enjoyable and not in small part due to the amazing acting and writing of Shanan Custer and Joshua Scrimshaw. As good as you hope it will be. A must see.

In stitches (not in my hoo)

Something that could have been tired and clichéd done thoughtfully and well. The structured scenes and surreal inserts fit nicely, and Scrimshaw and Custer have perfect timing and great chemistry. Also only time ever Harry Chapin has not made me want to murder all the faces.
